B&B Dock & Development is proudly an Ameren UE Certified Dock Builder

AmerenUE is responsible for regulating the docks, seawalls, and other structures on our lovely Lake of The Ozarks waters, per their federal license agreement to operate the Bagnell Dam and Osage Power Plant, which created the lake in 1931. Beginning January 1st 2004, companies who wish to construct, repair or modify docks, breakwaters, or replace dock flotation, were required by AmerenUE to become “Certified Dock Builders”. In order to meet this certification, these builders must apply and submit any supporting documents, proving that they understand and commit to following the approved construction standards and waste disposal. Along with these, the company must pay a $300 fee and show proof of insurance. Once these are received AmerenUE will conduct an engineering inspection of work done by said builder. Working on these projections without this Certification can result in fines and penalties.

“The new Certified Dock Builder Program is aimed at reducing the amount of man- made debris that gets into the lake by ensuring that docks and other structures on the shoreline meet established quality standards for construction and flotation,” says Jeff Green AmerenUE shoreline management field coordinator. “This program is the result of several years’ work by a task force made up of dock builders, interested citizens and AmerenUE representatives…”

B&B Dock proudly is an AmerenUE Certified Dock Builder and has upheld these standards every day of operation. When looking for a repair company, keep in mind that if you do not see them listed, you may not be receiving the quality of work you’re entitled to, and they may be subject to fines and or penalties that could affect the completion of your project. Dock builders and individuals who have questions about the Certified Dock Builder Program may call 573-365-9214.
